Are you fat?
Is your body mass index more than 43?
If you answer ‘yes’ to both questions, you might want to go on a low-carbohydrate diet.
A 2003 comparative study finds that you lose 200% more weight on a low-carb diet than a low-fat one. So all the debate about low-fat is better than low-carb is now settled. If any low-fat advocates brag about the superiority of a low fat lifestyle, you can shove their low fat pretzels up their ass. And show them this study.
Besides the finding of a relatively more weight-loss in the low-carb group, the study also finds that after six-months the low-carb group is “healthier” than the low-fat group. The low-carb group makes a relative improvement in their insulin sensitivity and triglyceride levels.
That’s a double blow to the low-fat advocates. All their claims about getting healthier with a low-fat lifestyle are simply bullshit. And if any doctor tells you to go low-fat, please shove this study in his face. Some doctors are simply too lazy to read medical journals.
I recommend those who are fat and have a body mass index of 40 and above to follow a low-carb diet. Not only you’ll lose 200% more weight, you’ll be healthier.
However, whether you can maintain the weight loss is another question. After the rapid weight loss on a low-carb diet, I suggest you switch to a more holistic program like the BTFFTM to maintain your weight loss.
