Weight loss gurus and experts want you to believe that Yo-Yo dieting is bad.
They want you to believe that Yo-Yo dieting is dangerous to your health. They want you to believe that repeated dieting will make your subsequent dieting efforts harder.
They are wrong.
You don’t lose less weight on subsequent diets. How much weight you lose on your previous diets have no effect on how much weight you will lose on your current diet. In fact, the rate of weight loss will be similar.
How many times have the experts bitch that Yo-Yo dieting is bad for your heart?
Now you can shout BULLSHIT at their ugly faces.
Yo-Yo dieting has no effect on your heart. It does not adversely affect your risk of getting heart disease. It will not increase your risk of heart attack. In fact, at each restart of a diet, your serum lipid levels will be lower.
If you’ve gained weight since your last diet, don’t be afraid to start the diet again. Research proves that you’ll lose weight and that it won’t be harder to lose the weight again.
